Making Space: Little Things, Literally.
Sometimes I start thinking about reorganizing, or decluttering or purging and I start to freak out and get totally overwhelmed. That's happened a couple of times lately. So my solution has been to just organize something little. Like last week, there was one morning when I chose to straighten up my sock drawer. I'm the life of the party, right? But that made me feel so good, I went on to reorganize my other drawers, and purge some unwanted items from my wardrobe.
So the moral of the story is, if you want to declutter and make some space but are too overwhelmed, don't run away and hide from it! Just choose a little project first, and then you'll probably be inspired to do more.
Baby steps, people.
Happy Monday!

I totally get it! My friends always make fun of me because my underwear/sock drawers look like Victoria's Secret. I fold everything and use these little drawer boxes from Ikea that I love!! When things are in their place, first I always know where it is and second it just feels cleaner. :-)
ReplyDeleteI agree! If I think about everything that's needs to be done on the house I get too overwhelmed. I just try to focus on one project at a time. :)
ReplyDeleteYour 'before' looks my 'right now'. With the change in weather coming, its the perfect time to get organized.
ReplyDeletei love your mission to declutter and simplify! i definitely need to move this before we move next summer. i did a bit of it last december, so hopefully it won't be too horrible this time around. there is an amazing sense of peace that comes with organizing/decluttering!
