Guess what! It's almost my four year anniversary of having an Etsy shop. So hard to believe that four years have gone by since that night that I sat in front of my computer, nursing my firstborn, and decided to open up an online shop. I wanted to be able to stay home with my family, and I thought that selling jewelry on Etsy might help me achieve that goal. I never imagined that my shop would grow and become a full time job for me, or that I would be able to stop teaching lessons, something that was becoming increasingly frustrating for me as we added to our family.
So, yay for all that! BUT, I really really really wish there was more information out there on how to keep your books as an Etsy shop owner. I never really found a clear post about what I should do, or how jewelry makers kept track of everything.
I have been thinking of writing a post about how I keep my books...does that sound interesting to you or totally boring? I think it might help some people. I know I wish I had known what to do from the very beginning. It would have saved me a ton of time and trouble.
Oh and that mess up there...sometimes that happens still! Especially if I get a lot of supplies at once and don't have time to inventory them! But it got cleaned up...I can't leave it like that for long, especially with little hands around. :)
