We really use our house...playing, working, cooking, raising our children, learning, and everything else. It's not perfect, and it's not huge, but it works for us. We have learned (and are still learning) how to make the most of our little 1950's ranch.
As you will see, I LOVE to decorate with lots of color!
So come on inside...

...living room

We spend so much time in here. Especially lately, while I nurse Baby Bee and we watch too much PBS Kids. Behind me there was a train track set up and a big lego building party happening.

I love shelves!

...kitchen

This is our most multi-functional room. Here is our art area and coat/shoe rack.

I love seeing the inside of people's cupboards. We use Fiesta Ware over here...so colorful, and so durable! I started my collection while I was in college and have so many different colors, but always love to add more!

...studio corner of kitchen

This is where I make all the jewelry in my shop and manage/ship orders.

...our bedroom

You can see the before and after here.
...bathroom

Photo from The Brightside Studio.
Yes, we have Christmas lights in the bathroom all year round. They make good night lights. :)
...changing table closet

This used to be a hall closet, but since we are short on space, we made it into a changing station/storage area for Baby Bee's things.
...family room

We completely redid this room in 2010...see the transformation here.

That's the end of our tour! There are two rooms that I didn't get to photograph...my older son's bedroom, and the music room, which as of yesterday was filled with clothes that needed to be folded. Oh well. Maybe next time.
Thanks for stopping by!

Vinyl goodbye from Tasty Suite.

Thank you, Laura! This was such a fun link up!
DeleteLooks lovely! When we first bought our home 5 years ago I knew precious little about how to decorate. I finally started to work on that last Summer, and I'm still not done! I'm a slow mover I guess. Love all the color in your living room!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Faith! I've enjoyed the organization and decor projects you've posted on your blog!
DeleteSo fun Kelly!! I love your use of color. I'm a color gal too, I can't live in an all white space, it would drive me crazy! Your home looks cozy and functional at the same time...which is essential when you've got little ones. :-)
ReplyDeletewow, you've definitely made the most of your space! it is so cozy. I love the turquoise in the family room!
ReplyDeleteHey Kelly, I agree with Laura, your home does look like something out of a magazine. I love all the colors and the different prints you have featured in your home. And framing the dollies - how brilliant! I never thought of that. My friends mum sent me some that her mother had made, and I've been wondering how to best display them :) So glad Laura organised this link up, I've enjoyed it :)
ReplyDeleteeeeeep!! I really lovelovelove that goodbye decal on the inside of your door!! That is so brilliant and darling!! I really adore your entire house girl! ReplyDeleteYour home looks colorful and loved... the inside of cupboards are one of my favorite things to see, too! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThis is my first time here, but I'm going to follow your blog simply because I love your home so much! I love all the little quirky touches, and I am going to use your idea of doilies in a picture frame. Crazy as it sounds, I have been wanting to make doilies for so long and could not think of a single use for them, but now I have one!
ReplyDeleteYour home is beautiful! I especially love the changing table closet- so cute. Thanks for linking up!
ReplyDeleteYou home is SO warm, inviting and personable. I love all the sweet details. You've done such a beautiful job.
